Senior Revenue Accountant

Billerica, MA

Thriving Life Sciences Company is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join the Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for daily transactions and GL entries for revenue and related GL accounts. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure all revenue is being accounted for correctly. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, is a fast-learner who is self-motivated and deadline-oriented, can thrive under pressure in a fluid work environment and is a team player with a positive attitude.

What You’ll Do:

  • Play a key role with the monthly revenue close process

  • Coordinate, process and track outstanding customer orders

  • Process and distribute customer invoices

  • Work closely with customers and other departments on billing/revenue issues

  • Assess contracts for proper accounting treatment under ASC 606

  • Assist in improving and streamlining revenue processes to scale our businesses and new revenue streams

  • Assist in researching accounting guidance and documenting positions on revenue transactions

  • Provide support for the quarterly and annual financial statement audits

  • Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

 

What We’ll Expect From You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting

  • CPA or CPA candidate is a plus

  • 3+ years of revenue experience preferred

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience preferred preferably within a public company environment or a large regional or Big Four accounting firm

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to details

  • Ability to problem solve independently

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience in ERP Systems preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Excel

  • Experience in reviewing sales contracts 

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition in U.S. GAAP under ASC 606 

  • Ability to assess and analyze ASC 606 impact on revenue for sales agreements

 

Salary range: $95k - $110k Per Year
