Inside Sales Representative (Post Sales)

Billerica, MA

This is an excellent opportunity in particular for candidates with some technical/scientific/laboratory experience who wish to experience or transition into more commercial customer-facing roles. 

 

Our client is seeking a talented and highly motivated Inside Technical Sales Representative - (Post Sales) to join our growing organization.  This position will be part of our Inside Sales Team which is responsible for the internal sales function of their instruments, reagents and service contracts.  This position will partner with their stake holders (Sales, Applications Science and Service teams) to execute strategic plans to drive revenue in the respective categories.    In this internally based position, you will have the opportunity to meaningfully drive growth of the business and will develop your business-to-business sales skills.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize publicly available data and subscription-based tools to identify relevant target customers;

  • Triage in-bound customer inquiry and follow-up in an effort to close sales

  • Sell in a manner to provide customers with high value, and biological solutions. Become well versed in their technology, publications and messaging to effectively introduce new customers to them;

  • Develop and implement a strategic and tactical territory sales plan that results in increased customer contact and achieves above market growth rates and increased market penetration;

  • Work closely with sales team to promote high level of sales productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction;

  • Set priorities, develop and seize opportunities to meet and achieve goals;

  • Demonstrate in both words and actions that meeting customer needs is a priority; and,

  • Manage a high confidence forecast and track sales process with Salesforce.com.

 

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Some laboratory experience in immunoassay development, pharmaceutical drug discovery or biomarker research a strong plus;

  • Excellent communication, specifically phone and email skills;

  • Inside sales selling experience is preferred; and,

  • Salesforce.com experience is a plus;

  • Proven track record of selling consumable. Instrument sales experience a plus;

  • Experience in driving run rates for consumables;

  • Work closely with cross functional teams in order to meet goals;

  • Strong verbal communication skills for discussions with researchers to CEO;

  • Drive to exceed quotas within assigned territory while supporting overall strategic growth objectives;

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual to drive consumable growth;

  • Utilize competitive information and marketplace data where appropriate to close orders and or create revolving account orders;

  • Organization and time management skills;

  • For one of our two positions, fluency in German is preferred.  French and Italian fluency a plus.

  • Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry or related field required

 

Travel Requirements:

  • 20%

 

Compensation:

  • Base salary of 45-55K with a 16K annual incentive target.
